Southern Bay Brew Co set to celebrate "breakfast beer" on Australia Day
What could be more Australian than celebrating a premium, hand-crafted beer that's brewed on your doorstep?
Geelong's own Southern Bay Brew Co is preparing to launch Sunrise Breakfast Beer, a beverage that will change the way you think about beer. And folk from Geelong and beyond are invited to celebrate at a Family Brew Day on Australia Day.
Sunrise Breakfast Beer is the brainchild of the "Lager Lads" – the dedicated Southern Bay Brew Co brew crew who are putting their hearts and souls into a new range of six brews to be introduced to the market over the coming months under the concept of Southern Bay Style.
"This is the one we're most excited about," said General Manager Ben Israel. "It's an innovative approach to beer styling. We developed Sunrise as a beer to share with friends over a leisurely breakfast. Its 500ml bottle makes it ideal for sharing and it's light-bodied, easy-drinking character makes it a natural for mornings. We've gone a little easier on the alcohol content, too."
The Lager Lads will be at the Southern Bay Brew Shed at 80 Point Henry Road, Moolap from 10am – 3pm on Australia Day (Thursday, 26 January) making the first commercial brew of Sunrise Breakfast Beer. They invite anyone with an interest in beer, brewing or Geelong to come and meet them, learn more about hand-crafted beers, tour the brewing operations, enjoy a BBQ and a fun family day.
"This is definitely a family fun day," explained Ben. "Expect live music, a marquee, beer sales, BBQ and lots of brewing professionals chatting about their passion."
"It's an opportunity to be at the brewery and a part of the historic day when we set in motion our first brew of Sunrise Breakfast Beer."
"We hope to see lots of friends, new and old, celebrating Australia Day with us."
